Industrial safety screens are devices designed to protect workers and equipment in industrial settings from various hazards such as sparks, debris, and other potentially harmful materials. Screens can also act as privacy barriers. All screens separate different areas within a facility or between workers and machinery. Different types of screen materials offer different benefits and use cases and work better in specific environments.
Singer Safety Company manufactures industrial safety screens for use with a variety of manufacturing operations including welding, grinding, and cutting. Our industrial screens are a simple and versatile way to increase workplace safety by creating a barrier between the operation and other workers.
Uses for Industrial Safety Screens
Screens are an important part of overall workplace safety but are not a substitute for personal eye protection and other personal protective equipment needed for welding and other processes.
Welding
Welding safety screens are made from flame-resistant material and aim to protect workers from sparks, UV radiation, and welding splatter. Singer Safety specializes in welding safety screens. These industrial safety screens aim to create a defined welding area, prevent sparks, contain fumes, reduce noise, and offer temperature control.
Machine Guards
There are specific industrial screens designed to be installed around machinery to prevent accidental contact with moving parts. These screens protect workers from injuries caused by equipment such as rotating blades, conveyor belts, or other potentially dangerous components.
Partition Screens
Partition screens can separate work areas, create designated zones, and offer privacy. They can also help contain dust, debris, and fumes – and control access.
Chemical Splash Screens
Chemical splash screens are installed in environments where exposure to chemicals is a concern. These screens are resistant to chemical splashes and help protect workers from harmful and hazardous substances.
Industrial Safety Screen Materials
There are different types of screen materials used for specific purposes. Singer Safety manufactures industrial safety screens with different types of vinyl, PVC, and plastic. These materials can be transparent or solid and provide different benefits for specific situations. Singer produces screens with specialty vinyl including Open Weave Vinyl Coated Polyester Mesh, Translucent Laminated Vinyl, and “Bumblebee” Striped Laminated Vinyl. Our safety panel experts assist you in selecting the best material for your safety requirements.
TransVue Vinyl
TransVue vinyl screens are ideal for welding. These screens offer flash-blocking optical protection to increase eye protection in conjunction with proper PPE. The TransVue screens allow safe, tinted two-way visibility and are California Fire Marshall-approved. They come in 14 mil. thickness, 13 oz./square yard, and transparent color choices that include yellow, blue, orange, green, or gray.
Laminate Vinyl
Facilities use our laminate vinyl industrial safety screens for welding, general safety, and privacy panels. These screens resist fire, oil, water, and mildew and are made with tough, tear-resistant fabric. They are 14 mil. thick and 13 oz./square yard. Opaque color options include white, yellow, orange, red, green, purple, blue, gray, and black.
Cotton Duck
Cotton duck is a mildew-resistant material ideal for applications exposed to water or high humidity. These screens are flame resistant, and CPA1-84 approved. They are 30 mil thick and come in an olive green color.
Open Weave Vinyl Coated Polyester Mesh
Open weave vinyl coated polyester mesh screens are specially designed and used for applications that do not require a solid barrier. They resists ultraviolet rays, mildew, stains, abrasion, and weather. These screens are 30 mil. thick, 12 oz./square yard, and come in white, blue, and black.
Translucent Laminated Vinyl
Translucent Laminated Vinyl is ideal for thermal protection and energy conservation. This type of industrial screen is 22 mil. thick, 16 oz./square yard, and flame retardant.
“Bumblebee” Striped Laminated Vinyl
Singer Safety Company’s striped vinyl is used for applications requiring visible safety indicators. These screens resists acids, fire, mildew, and oil, and meet OSHA requirements. They are 15 mil. thick and 11 oz./square yard. The black and yellow stripe coloring gives them their bumblebee nickname.
Roll Up Safety Screens
For facilities without designated welding areas or low on available space, roll-up welding and safety screens are an ideal option. These screens have the ability to be placed wherever welding is being performed. Our roll-up welding screens are fairly lightweight, durable, and portable so that you can move them anywhere you need welding to be done. Then simply roll and store them until they are needed again.
